It’s definitely unsupported, but it won’t stop you from doing it as far as I know.

I’m confused as to how to read the Client Audit report. My report shows Client versions of 2.3, 2.6, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, and 5.4. Also, I see Client OS as iPhone, Windows 10, Windows Vista, OS X, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8, and Windows 7. We are using Zero Clients for a the vast majority of our users, but iPads, Macs, and other Windows devices are used typically when the user is remote. However, I see Windows 7 as the overwhelming majority of our Clients. The number looks more like the number of VMs we are running (our VM image is Windows 7) rather than the number of Clients. For the record, I am reading “Client” as the end point device not the VM with the agent.
How should the Client audit report be read? What info is it providing?

I use the survey very happy, because I can only use a virtual machine to the vSphere Client under Mac OS. What I miss in the two is the ID of the VM is displayed. ‘vim-cmd vmsvc / getallvms’ via terminal is still relatively complicated. A box for the ssh shell would be very useful. Similar to the Trilead VMExplorer.
sry for the bad english from Google Translator
Thank you for the good work

Supplement: Open the ‘VMware Remote Console.app’ does not work, but the link vmrc: // user: password @ servername / moid = 1 ‘, for example? works on Safari.

Hi, Following your answer, I’ve did the job again, but changing steps orders:
OS (WIN10 64 Bits LTSB), VMTools, View Agent, VMOSOT b1057.
And now, it seems to work.
I’ve only a little “bug”: In Notifications Windows (bottom right), got some strange white squares replacing icons.

We are running vCenter 6.0. We have 2 independent vCenters each with their own external PSC running linked mode for ease of management. Is there any chance the migration fling will support migration from our current environment to VCSA? If so, how likely is that to occur in 2016?

Thanks for doing this! Way long overdue…Now I’m certainly be using ESXi more frequently as I wished.
It works fine on 5.5.0U2 (ESXi on Fusion).
If I update U2 to U3 and then try to install the EHC it fails with error 28, although there’s plenty of space and inodes.
[InstallationError]
Error in copying from /bootbank/sata_ata.v00 to /tmp/stagebootbank/sata_ata.v00: [Errno 28] No space left on device
Curiously enough, if I keep on trying it installs always the third time but requires a reboot. After reboot I get this message
/esx_ui.v00: file not found.
Fatal error: 15 (Not found)
I power off, boot and everything’s fine again, but the vib is gone (not installed).
I fear PEBCAK — I don’t use ESXi that much, but I suppose it’s better to report it, in case it’s something else.

Hi Nan, I’m not quite sure I understand what issue CMA60 is describing, but it sounds like it may be related to one I am seeing with the “start menu”. On a freshly created Win 10 Enterprise image, running the tool with the default options seems to kill the start menu. It does not break for the user whos profile was created before running the tool. After deploying a pool based on this parent image, and logging in with a new user, if you click on the start menu nothing comes up at all.

Hey guys,
great tool! I loved to use it several time at customer sites and it always work flawlessly. What I would need sometimes is a migration of VCA to VCA…appliance with all settings, db and dvSwitches to another new appliance.
Could you integrate that?
Regards,
Chris
Comment on VMware OS Optimization Tool by Philip Chapman
Please ignore that message. I had mistakenly installed the AppVolumes 2.9.0 image which caused the start menu issue on Win 10. It was resolved by putting the support 2.10 version on. Tool works great – thank for all of the effort!

Hi, Alan,
Thanks for using Toolbox.
2.3,3.0,3.6, and so on are versions of Horizon Clients.
Windows 10, iPhone and so on are operation systems of Horizon Clients devices.
The numbers are times of connections. If one single client device connects to view desktop for 10 times, the number will be 10, not 1.

Can we run this fling from MAC?

Comment on Horizon Service Installer for NSX by Rob Lara
Sam,
Curious if the fling downloaded has not been updated to the version you are demonstrating in your video (video shows 1.1 and download shows 1.0). Reason I ask is that I used your fling however while it did create the service entries, it did not do any of the other items outlined in your video. Please advise
Comment on Horizon Toolbox 2 by Jason Funk
Love the Fling. The issue we are having is when using Console Access. When I select a VM, a second tab opens but all I get is a black screen.
Is there a setting that needs to be changed on the VM, an agent to install like for the Remote Assistance, etc?
Comment on ESXi Embedded Host Client by johanbdn
Managed to install on my dev host using this command “esxcli software vib install -d “.
Comment on Horizon Service Installer for NSX by Sam
@Rob, I haven’t updated the Fling website to the version I shown in the video (v1.1). I personally send the download link to Will for the feedbacks. If you like to try, I can send you the dropbox download link.
